She was a member of the Federal Nuclear Safety Commission (NSC) from 2008 to 2012.
Tanja Manser is Director of the School of Applied Psychology at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland and an expert in safety culture and risk management. She was previously Director of the Institute for Patient Safety at the University of Bonn from 2014 to 2017 and, at the same time, Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Risk Management and Societal Safety at the University of Stavanger from 2016 to 2018. Tanja Manser was Associate Professor in Industrial Psychology and Human Factors at the University of Freiburg (CH) from 2010 to 2014.
Since completing her degree in psychology in 1998, Tanja Manser has worked professionally at various universities in the field of Safety and Security Research / Human Factors. She was awarded a doctorate by the University of Zurich in 2002 and received a postdoctoral lecturing qualification from ETH Zurich in 2008. She has completed periods of research at the School of Medicine at Stanford University (2003-2005) and at the Industrial Psychology Research Centre at the University of Aberdeen (2009-2010).
